M. Dallas H. Ross
Mr. Ross is a partner and founder of Kinetic Capital Partners in Vancouver, BC whose equity capital and strategic attention is focused on several core private investee companies operating in the US but with global applicability for their product offerings. The investee companies offer proprietary technology, strong management, strategic market position and high margins within large, attractive, high growth markets and offer shareholder value creation that is substantial. Mr. Ross is highly involved with their strategic direction, management effectiveness, financial results and value creation progression. Mr. Ross is also active in a number of public companies. He is Chair of the Board of Rogers Sugar Ltd. and Chair of the Board and of the Strategic Initiatives Committee of Lantic Sugar Inc. and previously was Chair of the Audit Committee of Rogers Sugar Ltd. and Lantic Sugar Inc. He is on the Board and is CFO of Westshore Terminals Investment Corporation and is on the Board of Westshore Terminals Ltd. Mr. Ross is also on the Board of Canfor Corp, is Chair of the Capital Expenditure Committee, and is on the Audit Committee and Comp Committee. Mr. Ross was on the Board, Chair of the Campus Task Force, on various committees of Crofton House School and a key part of the team that drove the strategy and execution for the very successful, large fundraising and on time, on budget campus rebuild and significantly improved economic scale of the school. Prior to Kinetic Capital Partners, Mr. Ross was Managing Director, Investment Banking at Scotia Capital in Vancouver and, prior to that, Managing Director, Mergers & Acquisitions in Toronto where he started in 1985. He undertook many significant M&A and financing transactions including ones with the Jim Pattison Group, Onex Corporation, Belkorp, Rogers Communications and others. |
Frank Barker
Mr. Barker is a partner and founder of Kinetic Capital Partners and previously was Vice-President of Finance for Bartrac Investments Ltd. from 1986. He assisted Bartrac in divesting its Finning holding and has since developed and executed a long-range strategic plan to diversify Bartrac's corporate investments. During his tenure, the assets under his direction have grown at an annual compound rate of approximately 20%. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Barker was acting Chairman and CEO of Canlan Ice Sports Corp., where he re-configured operations by spinning off non-core assets, changing management and restructuring the Company's finances. Mr. Barker was an active director of Whistler Mountain Ski Corporation from 1988 to 1997 where he worked with his partners to replace senior management, implement an extensive capital expenditure program and negotiate its ultimate sale in 1997 at a considerable profit. Mr. Barker was a Director of Courage Energy Inc. from 1996 to 2001 when the company was taken private in a transaction that netted a five-fold return on capital for its shareholders. |
